10月裡的一個深夜，從廣播HIT-FM聽到這首歌，霎時整個人醒過來，眼睛睜得大大的專心聆聽它每一個音符，隱隱聞得到些微悲傷的氣息。
那時候怎麼睡不著了，說什麼也要知道這首歌的一切，立刻拜一下咕狗大神，查到他們的資料，基音樂團，一個少了吉他的搖滾樂團，來自英國薩西克斯郡Battle小鎮，走唱了6年，在獨立廠牌Fierce Panda發行2張單曲後，2003年加盟環球音樂，很快的，他們受到了注目。
一邊反覆的聽著下載來的歌，一邊看著歌詞，嘗試著要翻譯成中文，還真困難，日後問過許多朋友，大家的說法不一，連歌名都翻不一樣，卻有個共通想法，這首歌述說著一段已經過去的愛情。
在夢裡，我的身體從你的手滑落河裡，看著你的臉也看到眼中的自己。
在夢裡，你的愛情過程並不滿意，你將片段切開並散落滿地，
滿懷希望試著去重新拼起，即使徒勞無功，但我們還是持續。

主旋律快速地流轉著震撼我的耳膜，主唱高亢嗓音一氣呵成地灌近我的大腦，超越的穿透力和感人旋律合而為一，一股清新的涼意從背脊流上，帶起身上的雞皮疙瘩，老天，像遇到鬼一樣。
好歌，這是一首好歌。
基音的音樂是以鋼琴為主，很多雜誌、小報批評他們模仿Coldplay，沒有吉他手，以鋼琴編織旋律、鼓音支撐骨幹，而歌聲賦予靈魂，在英國競爭激烈的流行樂界站穩腳步，又一次為鋼琴搖滾寫下新的定義。
或許是自己並不常聽歌，工作那麼久了，對於流行音樂遲鈍化，更可能對國內那些五五六六棒棒妹妹的不以為然，潛意識裡疏忽音樂，總認為流行音樂的速食文化加上媒體狗仔風格惡化了音樂原本感動人心的要素，失去了吸引力。
我是個不求甚解的人，缺乏理性判斷，感情用事，聽歌，也是。
因為只愛Bon Jovi-Lost Highway專輯裡「Make a memory」這首歌而買這張唱片，即使不解為何他們開始走鄉村音樂路線。
因為喜愛「Where’d you go」這首歌裡嘻哈男聲與鋼琴女聲中宛如冰與火的完美組合，才會去聽Fort Minor以及Linkin Park。
因為林憶蓮唱過「Seasons of Love」，才喜歡上Rent這部音樂劇。
因為優克李林的「認錯」，讓我一直聽林志炫的歌不知有多少年頭，連之前的演唱會我花下4800摳摳卻連眼睛也不眨一下。
因為在計程車裡聽到廣播播放著深白色二人組的歌-「那個人」，才知道這行業裡還有試唱員這回事，好玩的是，那司機大叔可是大粉絲阿。
因為王菲唱的「旋木」與趙傳唱的「勇敢一點」，讓我喜歡聽袁唯仁的歌。
因為范瑋琪「最初的夢想」唱到了心坎裡，買了專輯卻只聽這一首，連專輯名稱都忘了。
同樣的，這首歌的驚艷，讓我認識Keane。
歌曲存在於人類世界中，源自於乍聽之下的感動，「The lovers are losing」似乎唱著自己的故事，腦裡流過一段又一段的回憶，詢問自己是不是如歌裡所說的那樣，歌詞聽不聽的懂沒關係，語言通不通也沒關係，日後還記不記的住，會不會喜新厭舊，那也沒關係，我愛的是一種感覺，一種一聽到音樂與歌聲就湧起一股想要馬上知道哪個傢伙唱的、歌名叫什麼的念頭，迫不及待，不知所措的感覺。
我愛這種感覺。
